A unique auction at the Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower is delighted to host a unique auction : the skeleton of a new type of carnivorous dinosaur ! Organised by Aguttes auction house, the prestigious sale will take place on Monday 4th June 2018 at 6pm in the Gustave Eiffel Room, on the first floor of the monument.

An iconic monument for an exceptional event. The Gustave Eiffel Room, located on the first floor of the Eiffel Tower, will host an unprecedented event on Monday 4th June at 6pm: the auction of the skeleton of an unclassified theropod.

The skeleton, which measures 9 metres in length and is 70% complete, was discovered during a 2013 excavation at the Morrison Formation in the USA, one of the world’s most fertile sources of dinosaur fossils.

For this event, the skeleton has been scientifically assembled on a stainless steel structure whose design was inspired by the Eiffel Tower itself.
